I bought a two bedroom dated deceased estate in Balgowlah three years ago and originally retained Malcolm to renovate the bathroom which also contained the washing machine.
By the time we had finished Malcolm had moved the laundry into powder room and the toilet into the bathroom. He fully renovated the kitchen with brand new European appliances. This also involved knocking out the internal balcony wall and supporting kitchen wall, replacing with structural steel and enclosing the balcony thus increasing the living area by 20m/2.
We then put new French doors to a previously unused common balcony area which we then bought off the Body Corporate increasing the unit footprint by another 80m/2.
Malcolm ‘s overall knowledge and professionalism were an absolute Godsend.
I have since sold that project and am looking for the next. I will not hesitate to use Malcolm and his team on any new renovating endeavours.

About a year ago, when surveying what had to be done at the renovation site I was “flipping”, I met Mal and thanked him for being so kind to a friend of mine who needed help with her bathroom. A woman alone can easily get ripped off, as we know, and Mal came in and did a small job for her for about a third the cost she was quoted, saying that he was tired of fellow-tradies doing this to unsuspecting, potential clients (invariably single women).
When it came time to do my work, I was constantly in awe of Mal’s knowledge of all the trades he is capable of and often he would step in and move the job along without any hesitation.
I have had so many people come to the house and marvel at the tiling Mal has done. Good choices, I must admit, however, Mal’s workmanship is so very good. Mal has attention to detail and when we put the bath in which was plastic, encased in tiles, he even knew about putting foam into the cavity to help with retaining the heat from the hot water … these are the little things that finish a house and make it extraordinary.
I wouldn’t hesitate to employ Mal again or recommend him to anyone. Apart from top workmanship he is also a great raconteur which is so much fun!! A very smart man …
